Cherokee White flour corn

This is a white flour corn grown by the eastern Cherokee. This strain was preserved by an elderly Cherokee woman in the Tuckasegee area of North Carolina. The plants can be very tall, many over 10 feet, bearing extra-long ears of mostly 8 rows of large rounded kernels. Plants are quite stiff and mostly stand well into fall. Ideal spacing within the row is 1 foot or more. If planted closer many stalks will bear only very small or no ears. Germination test Mar 2020 95%. approx. 80 seeds per oz.
